The two giants which provide networking solution services have unanimously agreed to extend upon their partnership so as to include and develop network functions virtualization. Both companies came together to announce their new collaboration under which they will deliver new solutions which will help in accelerating network transformation so as to aid Communication Service Providers. Their new collaboration will result in extended relationship under which VMware will let its 5G high quality and production proven NVP platform (Network Function Virtualization) which is open stack ready to combine with Tech Mahindra’s Services which will result in accelerated service delivery for global CSPs and also opening new opportunities for them as well as improving the business and IT economics.
Global CSPs have to maintain a model under which they are capable of delivering new and differentiated network service in a real time mode i.e. switching on the services at the request of subscribers whenever and wherever they want but also keeping the cap on capital expenditure to a minimum. This will have far reaching effect and telecommunication companies will be able to think and design new services and business models. On the long term, since 4G and LTE have already gained much popularity and people are already curious about 5G Tech Mahindra’s this initiative with VMware will provide digital transformation to CSPs and help improve their networking solution services.
Under this initiative Tech Mahindra has already onboraded VMware vCloud NFV with their own Xchange VNF (Virtual Network Function) program. This VNF-Xchange program is basically a vendor-neutral platform which has been designed to accelerate the process of adoption of NFV by communication industry as well as SDN (Software Defined Networks). It also provides a platform which allows to integrate VNFs along with the components residing in NFV reference architecture.
